Today I get to share a wedding that is very close to my heart.

These high school sweethearts have been our close friends for years and I got to capture their surprise engagement back in 2017 and now their wedding day!

It was a beautiful sunny day in May when these two said their “ I do’s” in front of the large Marula tree at the incredible Bordeaux Game Farm.

Seeing Cronje so emotional after reading his letter from Monique, I could feel my eyes filling up with tears and it wasn’t long before the waterworks was fully turned on when I took the first look through my camera of Monique. Throughout the day I had to keep my tissue close!

When Monique told me about her vision for their day I immediately knew my dear friend Louise from Louise Artistry was the perfect fit to create this fine art floral look. The beautiful hand painted floral cake was also made by this talented lady!

Each guest received a personalised leather key ring tag that the couple made themselves and I got to design all the stationery and signage for the day (I use to be a graphic designer before I started photographing weddings).

Dear Monique and Cronje, we are incredibly thankful to have you as our friends, thank you for always being their to listen and give advice. Thank you for your unconditional love towards our son Thomas (we couldn’t have picked better godparents for him!) Being part of this start to your journey together is something I will cherish forever! I wish you all the happiness in the word and cheers to creating more special memories together!
